This is a 3.7V, 2900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Oregon Scientific Meep and Meep X2 children's tablets. It matches OEM part number 056080CN55 and fits the OP0118-13 configuration. When the original cell degrades and the tablet no longer holds a charge, this replaces it directly.

- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Meep X2 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC completed a full cycle to 4.2V without thermal events.
- Post-swap fuel gauge reset: After installing this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The fuel gauge IC on the Meep calibrates against the new cell during this first full cycle — skipping it leaves the percentage display drifting against the actual cell state.
Why the Meep shuts down at 15–20% battery remaining
The Meep's fuel gauge IC stores a charge curve mapped to the original cell. When that cell ages and its internal resistance rises, the IC's stored curve no longer matches real-world voltage behaviour. Under combined load — backlit display, active Wi-Fi, and audio — the cell voltage drops sharply, hitting the low-voltage cutoff before the percentage readout reaches zero. Replacing the battery solves the hardware side, but the IC still needs one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle to remap the curve to the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at 15–20% stop.
Battery percentage jumping or stuck after replacement
This is a fuel gauge drift issue, not a fault with the new cell. The Meep uses a Coulomb-counting IC that was last calibrated to the old, degraded battery — it has no reference data for the new cell's capacity. Until it runs one complete cycle, the percentage can read 40% and jump to 15% within minutes, or stick at a fixed value for long stretches. Run the tablet fully to automatic shutoff on battery, then plug in and charge without interruption to 100%. One complete cycle resets the calibration and the percentage display stabilises at 3.7V nominal.
