This is a 3.7V, 850mAh Li-ion replacement for the Panasonic VW-VBY100 battery. It fits the HC-V110, HC-V110GK, HC-V110K, HC-V110P, and five additional HC-V110 variants. Capacity matches the OEM spec at 3.15Wh.
- HC-V110 series compatibility: All HC-V110 variants share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. The BMS in each model reads cell voltage and temperature through the same three-pin interface, so one cell covers the full variant range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell in an HC-V110 body. The BMS accepted the cell on the first charge cycle, voltage regulation held steady through HD recording load, and the thermal sensor reported no anomalies at the connector.
- First charge cycle on the HC-V110: Run the first full charge inside the camcorder body using the OEM AC adapter, not a third-party multi-slot charger. The HC-V110's BMS maps its battery-remaining display against a charge curve it samples on that first cycle — charging externally can misalign the indicator and cause erratic percentage readings throughout the cell's life.
Why the HC-V110 battery indicator jumps or freezes on a new cell
The HC-V110 uses a voltage-threshold method to estimate charge level. A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve compared to an aged OEM cell, so the thresholds can map incorrectly at first. This shows up as the percentage jumping forward or backward, or sticking at a level like 75% before dropping suddenly. Running two full charge-and-discharge cycles inside the camcorder body lets the BMS recalibrate its reference points against the new cell's actual curve.

This happens when the camcorder's BMS hasn't completed an authentication handshake with the new cell. The icon triggers based on an initial voltage read that can fall below the camcorder's acceptance threshold if the cell shipped at partial charge. Insert the battery and charge fully via the camcorder body before attempting to power on for recording. If the icon persists after a full charge, power-cycle the camcorder with the battery seated — most HC-V110 bodies clear the flag once the resting voltage reads above 3.9V.
