Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DMW-BLE9)
This is a 7.4V, 750mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 mirrorless camera. It replaces OEM part numbers DMW-BLE9, DMW-BLE9PP, and DMW-BLE9E. It fits the GF3, GF3K, GF3R, GF3P, and 22 additional Lumix variants that share the same battery bay and connector.

- First-cycle calibration on the GF3: On first use, run one complete charge cycle through the camera body or OEM charger before heavy shooting. The GF3's battery-level indicator maps to a specific discharge curve — it won't read accurately until the BMS has logged one full cycle from the new cell.
Why the GF3 battery indicator jumps around after a replacement cell is installed
The GF3 uses a voltage-threshold lookup table to estimate remaining charge. A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve than a conditioned OEM cell, so the camera maps the voltage readings to the wrong percentage steps at first. The indicator can jump from 80% to 40% in a single burst of continuous autofocus because the camera is reading a voltage drop it hasn't seen before. One full charge-discharge cycle from within the camera body allows the BMS to recalibrate its threshold mapping to the new cell's actual curve. After that cycle, the percentage readout stabilises.
GF3 displaying dead-battery icon on a cell that still has charge
This usually happens when a third-party cell is installed cold or without a prior charge cycle in the camera. The GF3 checks resting voltage on startup — if it reads below roughly 3.0V per cell, it flags the battery as depleted and refuses to boot. Place the battery in the OEM charger for 15–20 minutes to bring resting voltage above the startup threshold, then re-insert. If the body still shows the dead-battery icon, perform a full charge to 8.4V before re-seating the cell.
