This 3.7V 950mAh (3.52Wh) Li-ion cell replaces the OEM DMW-BCM13 battery in a broad range of Panasonic Lumix compact cameras. It fits the DMC-TZ41, DMC-ZS30, DMC-TS5, DMC-TZ40, and over 30 additional Lumix models sharing the same battery bay and BMS handshake. Voltage and physical dimensions match OEM spec exactly — 41.50 × 34.00 × 8.50mm.
- DMW-BCM13 platform compatibility: These Lumix models share the same 3.7V rail, locking tab position, and BMS communication protocol. A single cell design covers the full range because Panasonic standardised the connector and charge termination logic across this compact series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the DMC-TZ41 body and a DMW-BTC10 charger. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, reported charge state correctly, and terminated charge cleanly at full voltage without thermal flags.
- First-cycle calibration on the Lumix body: Run the first full charge cycle through the camera body itself, not a third-party charger. The Lumix BMS maps the discharge curve to the battery-remaining indicator during that first in-body charge — skipping it can cause the percentage display to read incorrectly for several cycles.
Flash recycling lag on a new DMW-BCM13 cell
The built-in flash draws a sharp recharge current spike after each firing. At mid-discharge, the cell's internal resistance rises enough to slow the capacitor recharge — you'll see the flash-ready indicator take longer than usual between shots. This is normal cell behaviour, not a fault with the replacement. If recycling lag appears early in a charge cycle, check that the battery contacts on the camera body are clean and making full contact.
Battery percentage jumping around after fitting a replacement cell
The Lumix battery-remaining display uses voltage thresholds calibrated to the OEM cell's discharge curve. A new third-party cell with a slightly different curve can cause the percentage to jump — for example, dropping from 80% to 50% without warning. This is a calibration mismatch, not a faulty battery. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator will stabilise as the BMS learns the new cell's actual discharge profile.
