This is an 18V 2000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Panasonic MC-WDD91 cordless stick vacuum. It uses OEM part number AVV12V-U9 and fits several models in the MC-WDD91 and MC-6DD65 lines. If your original battery no longer holds a full charge or fails to power the motor, this is the direct replacement.
- MC-WDD91 and MC-6DD65 compatibility: These models share the same 18V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A replacement must match all three — voltage alone is not enough. This cell meets the handshake requirement the vacuum's charger checks before initiating a charge cycle.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The MC-WDD91 motor pulls significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked — well above normal rated draw. The BMS reads this as a voltage sag and begins throttling power to protect the cell, even when charge level looks adequate. The result is weaker suction that recovers once the motor cools or load drops. Clean the filter before assuming the battery is at fault.
Replacement battery not charging on the original dock
The MC-WDD91 charger runs a BMS handshake check before it starts charging — it looks for a valid signal from the battery's protection circuit. If the replacement cell's BMS does not respond within the expected window, the charger stays dark and no charge current flows. This is not a faulty battery or charger in most cases. Seat the battery firmly, disconnect the dock from mains for 10 seconds, reconnect, then reinsert — this resets the handshake sequence and usually resolves the issue.
