Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the MC-WMD85
Ni-MH cells show voltage sag under load before overall capacity is exhausted. On the MC-WMD85, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current — this pulls cell voltage down early and triggers the BMS to reduce output before the indicator registers low. The vacuum feels like a weak battery when the actual cause is airflow restriction. Clean the filter first and retest; if suction recovers and holds, the filter was the problem, not the cell.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. Sustained restricted suction — blocked brush roll, packed filter, or sealed nozzle — forces motor current above the BMS threshold and the pack disconnects to protect the cell. After a few seconds the BMS resets and power returns. Clear the blockage and check that the filter is seated correctly. If the cutout stops after clearing the restriction, the pack and BMS are functioning as intended.
