This 3.7V, 1150mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the OEM EB-BSX700 cell in the Panasonic X700, X708, EB-X700, and EB-X700ACZUS smartphones. It matches the original voltage rail and connector pinout. Capacity is rated at 4.26Wh — identical to the factory spec for this handset.
- X700 and X708 platform fitment: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector layout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell — the EB-BSX700 — covers the full X700 family without modification to the connector or flex cable.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the X700 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell on the first charge cycle, voltage held steady under screen-on and modem load, and no thermal events or cutoff trips were logged.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue. The new cell's discharge curve differs slightly from the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was trained on. When the phone pulls peak current — modem transmitting, screen at full brightness — the cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the OS still shows charge remaining. The fix is one full discharge-to-shutdown, then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the reported percentage tracks the actual cell state accurately.
USB charging not initiating after the battery drops below 2.5V in storage
If the phone sat unused for an extended period, the cell may have discharged below the BMS lockout threshold — typically 2.5V per cell for Li-Polymer. At that voltage, the BMS disconnects the output rail entirely and the phone shows no response to a charger. Plug into a 5V USB source and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold before full charge current begins. Once the screen shows the charging icon, the BMS has re-initialised.
