PEUGEOT Elis — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ICR18650H2C)
This 7.4V 2500mAh Li-ion battery fits the PEUGEOT Elis electric salt and pepper mill. It slots into the battery compartment of the motorised grinder and restores power to the grinding mechanism. Voltage and cell format match the original ICR18650H2C specification.
- Elis mill compatibility: The Elis series uses a fixed 7.4V dual-cell Li-ion pack to drive the grinding motor at a consistent speed. The ICR18650H2C cell format and connector must match exactly — a lower-voltage pack causes the motor to stall under load, and an incorrect connector prevents the BMS from communicating with the charger circuit.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated grinding loads and confirmed the BMS holds voltage above the low-cutoff threshold throughout normal use. Cell balance across both cells stayed within 20mV at end of discharge.
- Contact care after kitchen use: Dry the charging contacts on both the battery and the mill before connecting the charger after use near steam or water. Moisture bridging the contacts triggers a BMS protection fault that blocks charging until the contacts are fully dry.
Why the Elis motor slows or stalls mid-grind
The Elis grinding motor draws a higher current spike when the burr meets coarser or denser seasoning. An aged cell pack with elevated internal resistance cannot sustain that current without voltage sagging below the motor's operating threshold. The BMS reads that sag as a low-cell condition and reduces output to protect the cells, which shows up as the grinder slowing or cutting out before the battery is depleted. A fresh pack with lower internal resistance holds voltage through the load spike and keeps the motor running at full speed.
Elis showing fully charged but losing power after a few grinds
This is cell capacity fade — the pack no longer holds usable charge across its full rated range even though the charger reports a full charge. As Li-ion cells age, the active material in each cell degrades and the usable window between full charge and the BMS cutoff voltage shrinks. The charger circuit sees voltage rise to 8.4V and terminates charge correctly, but the cells drop off rapidly once load is applied. Replacing the pack resolves this — confirm the replacement reads 8.4V at full charge before first use.
