PHICOMM C1230L — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-F35)
This is a 3.7V Li-ion replacement battery for the PHICOMM C1230L smartphone. It carries the OEM part number BL-F35 and a capacity of 1800mAh (6.66Wh). It fits the C1230L directly, restoring power to a phone whose original cell has degraded or failed.
- C1230L cell fitment: The BL-F35 uses the same connector pinout and physical footprint as the factory cell. The BMS communicates over the same thermistor line the C1230L charge IC expects — no modified handshake required.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full load discharge, and BMS cutoff verification. The protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold and recovered cleanly on reconnect.
- First-cycle fuel gauge reset: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC begins pushing high-current fast charge into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the C1230L after a cell swap
A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. When the phone reads 25%, the actual cell voltage may already be sagging under modem or display load. The charge IC sees voltage drop below the safe floor and cuts power before the OS can gracefully shut down. One full discharge-to-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and pushes the cutoff point to the correct voltage — typically resolving premature shutdowns within two cycles.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC pushes the same current into that higher resistance, generating more heat at the cell surface during the constant-current phase. This is normal on cycles one through three and typically settles as impedance drops. If the phone remains noticeably warm beyond the third full charge, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a poor contact forces the charge IC to work harder and raises heat further.
