Philip Morris iQos 2.4 Plus Charger Box — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BAT.000046.RD)
This is a 3.7V, 3400mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the internal battery in the Philip Morris iQos Charger and iQos 2.4 Plus Charger Box. The charger box stores charge and delivers it to the iQos holder between sessions. When the original cell degrades, the box fails to keep the holder topped up through a normal day of use.
- iQos Charger and 2.4 Plus Charger Box fit: Both units share the same 3.7V cell bay, OEM part number BAT.000046.RD, and the same BMS handshake protocol. One replacement cell covers both housings without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the iQos 2.4 Plus Charger Box and confirmed BMS communication, correct charge termination at 4.2V, and stable delivery voltage throughout the discharge curve.
- Post-session charge timing on the iQos Charger Box: Do not plug the charger box in immediately after a heavy-use session. The cell sits in a compact housing with limited airflow. Wait at least 15 minutes after the box feels warm to the touch before connecting power — charging into a warm Li-ion cell above 40°C accelerates electrolyte breakdown and reduces cycle life.
Why the iQos Charger Box stops refilling the holder mid-day
The charger box does not draw from mains power during normal use — it relies entirely on the internal cell. As that cell ages, usable capacity drops and the BMS starts cutting output earlier to protect the cell from over-discharge. What looks like the box "running out faster" is usually the BMS protecting a degraded cell, not a fault in the holder itself. Replacing the internal cell restores the full charge reservoir the box was built around.
iQos holder not receiving a charge from the box after battery swap
After fitting a new cell, the BMS occasionally needs a full initialisation cycle before it passes charge to the holder contacts. If the holder shows no charge activity, connect the charger box to mains power and let it charge fully — this completes the BMS initialisation pass. Once the box reaches a full charge state (indicator shows complete), disconnect from mains and seat the holder. The output circuit should activate normally at that point, with the cell resting at approximately 4.2V.
