About this replacement
Philips Avent SCD923P — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1S1PBL1865-2.6)
This 3.7V, 3350mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Philips Avent SCD923P, SCD923/26, and SCD923 parent unit. It restores portable operation to the parent unit so you can carry it room to room without staying tethered to a wall outlet. Fits the parent unit only — not the infant room unit.
- SCD923 parent unit fit: All three SCD923 variants share the same parent unit housing, connector pinout, and 3.7V single-cell architecture. One cell replacement covers the full SCD923 range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the SCD923 parent unit's charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without triggering a protection cutoff. The unit charged to full and held voltage under normal monitoring draw.
- Post-swap re-pairing: After fitting this battery, re-pair the parent unit with the infant room unit before putting it into service. The SCD923 drops its wireless link when the parent unit is fully powered down — a complete loss of power during a battery swap clears the active pairing state.
Parent unit battery draining overnight on the SCD923
The SCD923 parent unit runs its display backlight, radio receiver, and audio circuit continuously when the screen timeout is disabled. That sustained draw across an eight-hour night can push a degraded original cell to cutoff before morning. This replacement cell at 3350mAh gives the circuit more headroom, but enabling the screen timeout in the monitor's settings is the single most effective step to reduce overnight draw. Without it, even a new cell will work harder than necessary through a full night.
Reduced wireless range immediately after fitting a new battery
The SCD923's DECT radio module is voltage-sensitive — at low state of charge, the parent unit reduces transmit power, which compresses range noticeably. If range feels short right after a battery swap, the cell likely shipped with a partial charge, which is normal for Li-ion storage. Charge the parent unit fully before use. Once the cell reaches 4.2V, the radio operates at full power and rated range returns.
