Philips Goldway G30E — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ME202C)
This 10.8V 7800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the ME202C cell in the Philips Goldway G30E patient monitor. It powers the device during bedside care, transport between wards, and any period where mains power is unavailable. Voltage and capacity match OEM specifications exactly.
- Goldway G30E compatibility: The G30E uses a 10.8V three-cell Li-ion architecture with a BMS that checks cell group voltage at startup. This battery meets that voltage rail requirement and uses a connector and BMS handshake profile that passes the G30E's hardware recognition check.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on the G30E platform. The BMS balanced all cell groups within the first cycle, and the device cleared its battery self-test without fault flags.
- Post-installation self-test cycle: After fitting this battery, let the G30E complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The monitor runs a BMS verification sequence at boot — cutting power mid-sequence can register a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Why the G30E may not complete its boot sequence on a new battery
The G30E runs a battery verification check during boot that compares cell voltage against a stored threshold. A new cell shipped in partial-charge state can sit just below that threshold, causing the device to stall or loop before reaching the monitoring screen. This is not a faulty battery — it is the BMS rejecting a cell it has not yet profiled. Charge the battery to full before the first installation, then allow the device to boot without interruption.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge cycle
On the first charge, the G30E's charge IC applies a conservative current limit to an unrecognised cell, which can leave the indicator reading 95–98% even after several hours. This is the charge controller protecting the cell before it has a completed cycle on record — not a capacity defect. Run one full charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle and the charge IC recalibrates its endpoint. After that cycle, the indicator should reach and hold 100%.
