This 3.7V, 250mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Phonak iCube 1 Wireless Hearing Aid Programmer. The iCube 1 is a wireless programming device used by audiologists and hearing aid wearers to adjust hearing aid settings over a short-range radio link. When the original cell degrades and can no longer sustain a session, this replacement restores full function.

Why the iCube 1 drops its wireless link mid-programming session
The iCube 1 transmits to hearing aids over a short-range radio protocol while simultaneously running its onboard logic. That combined draw spikes current demand in short bursts. A degraded or deeply discharged cell sags below the BMS cutoff voltage during these spikes, and the programmer drops the wireless link before the session completes. A fresh cell at full charge sustains voltage through those bursts and keeps the link stable for the duration of a session.
iCube 1 shows full charge on the dock but cuts off seconds after undocking
This happens when the replacement cell arrives at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — and the dock registers it as charged without pushing a full cycle. The BMS then cuts the device off almost immediately once real load is applied. The fix is to leave the iCube 1 seated in the dock for a complete charge cycle, confirmed by the charge indicator returning to full from a charge state, before using the device. After that first full cycle the cell will deliver its rated 250mAh under normal load.
