Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still mapped to the voltage curve of the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop at low state-of-charge, and the IC interprets that curve as an emergency cutoff threshold. The tablet shuts down before the battery is actually empty. One complete discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration — after that cycle, the shutoff point moves back to the correct threshold near 3.0V per cell.
Fast charging not available after fitting the replacement cell
The Multipad 7.0 Ultra Duo charge controller negotiates charge rate based on a recognised cell profile. On the first cycle with a new cell, the IC defaults to a conservative charge rate until it completes one full accepted charge cycle. This is a protection behaviour, not a fault. Charge the tablet fully from flat once using the original charger — on the second cycle, the charge rate returns to the standard accepted level.
