Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the MultiPhone 3540 Duo
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. Under modem load — especially with two SIMs active — the cell voltage drops sharply even when the reported percentage still looks healthy. The phone's protection circuit sees the voltage dip below threshold and cuts power to protect the cell. After the replacement is installed, one full discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the fuel gauge IC so the OS percentage tracks the actual cell voltage more closely.
Phone not powering on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell drops below roughly 2.5V, the BMS locks out to prevent damage — the phone will show nothing when you press power. Connect to a wall charger (not a PC USB port) and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. Most BMS circuits begin a trickle pre-charge recovery below 2.5V and will unlock once the cell reaches approximately 3.0V, at which point the phone will boot normally.
