Prestigio MultiPhone 5000 Duo — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PAP5000 DUO)
This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell for the Prestigio MultiPhone 5000 Duo dual-SIM smartphone. It replaces the original PAP5000 DUO battery when the existing cell degrades, swells, or stops holding a usable charge. Voltage and connector match the original so the phone's charge IC and fuel gauge IC see a compatible cell from first boot.
- MultiPhone 5000 Duo fitment: The 5000 Duo runs two active SIM radios simultaneously, which pulls harder on the cell than a single-SIM phone. This replacement matches the 3.7V nominal voltage rail that both the modem stack and the display controller expect — voltage deviation outside that window triggers the protection circuit before the phone reaches a low-battery warning.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and load discharge on the bench. The BMS held voltage within spec under simultaneous modem and screen load, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff without a false shutdown mid-cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC in the 5000 Duo is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — a full cycle against the new cell lets it reset the coulomb counter before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens because the fuel gauge IC still references the degraded discharge curve of the original cell. When the new cell's actual voltage drops sharply under dual-SIM modem load — a steeper cliff than the old curve predicted — the phone's protection logic cuts power before the displayed percentage hits zero. One full discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter. After that cycle, the reported percentage tracks the actual cell voltage accurately at 3.6V nominal under load.
Phone will not power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage. The phone will show no sign of life — no charge indicator, no boot screen. Connect the phone to a low-current USB charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the BMS detects voltage above the recovery threshold, the charge IC takes over and normal charging resumes. If the phone still shows nothing after 30 minutes, try a different USB cable before assuming a fault.
