- Dock charging habit on the F16: Do not leave the F16 sitting on its charging dock between uses. Continuous low-level trickle charging accelerates capacity fade on this cell chemistry. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
This is one of the most common complaints on the F16 — the suction feels weak well before the LED signals a low battery. The cause is usually a partially blocked filter forcing the motor to draw higher current than its rated load. The BMS reads the elevated draw and reduces output to stay within safe limits, which drops motor speed and suction. Clean or replace the filter first; if suction recovers, the battery is not the fault.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause
This points to a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. When suction is restricted — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or heavy carpet fibres compacting at the intake — the motor labours and current draw spikes. The BMS shuts the output to protect the cells, then resets once the pack cools slightly. Clear the blockage and confirm filter airflow is unobstructed. If the fault persists on a clean filter, check that battery terminal voltage under load stays above 9V.
