Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On the PUCRCX70, suction loss mid-session is rarely a dead battery — it is usually motor voltage sag caused by restricted airflow forcing the motor to draw beyond its rated current. A clogged filter is the most common trigger. When airflow is blocked, the motor works harder, pulls more current, and the BMS may reduce output to protect the cell. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest before concluding the battery is at fault.
Motor cuts out on carpet and then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. When the vacuum transitions from hard floor to thick carpet, the motor load spikes sharply. If the filter is partially blocked, that spike exceeds the BMS current threshold and the protection circuit shuts output to protect the cell. The pack resets after a short thermal recovery window — usually a few seconds. Clear the filter, check the brushroll for hair wrap, and confirm the pack voltage reads above 9.0V after a full charge.
