This is a 3.7V, 6000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Pure Move 400D portable DAB digital radio. It replaces OEM part LC18650-2P when the original cell degrades and the radio no longer holds a charge. Swapping this battery restores full power to the receiver without replacing the unit.
- Move 400D fit: The LC18650-2P is a dual 18650 cell pack wired in parallel to deliver 3.7V at 6000mAh. The Move 400D uses this voltage rail for both the DAB decoder and the RF front-end — no adapters or connector modifications needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on DAB receiver hardware. The BMS correctly flagged over-voltage at the top of charge and cut current cleanly at the low-voltage threshold — no false trips during normal DAB decode load.
- Station scan after install: After fitting this battery, run a full auto-scan before manual tuning. The Move 400D stores its station list in volatile memory tied to continuous power — a swap resets that list, and manual tuning without a fresh scan returns incomplete or missing stations.
Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery on the Move 400D
The Move 400D DAB decoder needs a stable voltage supply to process the OFDM stream. When the battery sags below roughly 3.2V under load, the decoder loses sync and the audio drops out entirely rather than degrading gradually. This happens earlier on an aged original battery because internal resistance climbs and voltage sag deepens under even light current draw. A new LC18650-2P cell holds voltage flatter across the discharge curve, keeping the decoder above its minimum threshold longer into the cycle.
Reception drops in weak signal areas after fitting a new battery
In fringe DAB coverage areas, the Move 400D pushes the RF front-end harder to lock onto a usable signal — this draws more current than normal listening load. If the battery voltage is already low, the RF stage cannot reach full output power and reception suffers. Check that the battery has completed a full charge cycle before testing in a weak signal area. A fully charged LC18650-2P cell at 4.2V gives the RF stage the headroom it needs to maintain a stable multiplex lock.
