- Woodland and 82300506 compatibility: Both references point to the same hardware platform. The DAB decoder, RF front-end, and charging circuit all run from a single 3.7V Li-ion cell pair. The connector orientation and BMS handshake are identical across both unit markings.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the Woodland platform. The BMS balanced correctly at full charge, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at the low-voltage threshold before the DAB decoder could lose stream lock.
- Post-installation scan: After fitting this battery, run a full auto-scan before manual tuning. The Woodland stores its station list in volatile memory. Any power interruption — including a battery swap — clears that list, and the radio needs a fresh scan to rebuild it correctly.
Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery
The DAB decoder in the Woodland requires a stable voltage rail to maintain stream lock. As the battery discharges toward its lower threshold, voltage sag under the RF load causes the decoder to drop frames. The radio cuts out or mutes rather than playing degraded audio. This happens earlier with an aged original battery because internal resistance rises — a fresh cell at full charge holds the rail steady under the same load.
Shorter battery life in weak DAB signal areas
The Woodland's RF front-end draws more current when the DAB signal is weak. The tuner increases its search and acquisition power to lock onto a usable multiplex, and that sustained draw pulls the battery down faster than it would in a strong-signal environment. This is normal behaviour, not a battery fault. Moving the radio closer to a window or toward the transmitter direction reduces the RF load and extends the charge cycle.
