Why the Deltabell shows low battery hours after a new cell is fitted
Li-SOCl2 cells have a passivation layer that forms on the anode during storage. The Enforcer panel interprets this as a weak battery and logs or displays a low-battery fault. The passivation layer dissipates within 24–48 hours of the cell being under load, after which the panel should clear the fault and report normal status.
Deltabell siren silent on test after battery swap
If the sounder fails to trigger during a walk test shortly after installation, the cause is usually the cell not yet past its passivation phase rather than a wiring or panel fault. The Deltabell requires a stable voltage above 3.2V under load before the sounder circuit activates. Running a full alarm trigger test before that threshold is consistently met can result in a silent or delayed response. Wait 48 hours post-installation, then trigger the test — if the siren still does not sound, check the tamper loop is fully closed and the lid seated correctly before re-testing.
