Device shuts off without warning before the battery indicator hits zero
This is a calibration issue between the fuel gauge and the actual cell capacity. After fitting a new battery, the on-device charge indicator is still calibrated to the degraded old cell — it can show 20% remaining when the true cell voltage is already at the BMS cutoff threshold of around 3.0V. Run two or three full charge-to-shutdown cycles to let the firmware recalibrate the indicator against the new cell's actual capacity curve. After recalibration, the low-battery warning will trigger with enough headroom to save your route before shutdown.
