This 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the internal cell in the Range Rover Touchscreen Rear Entertainment Remote. It fits the wireless touch control unit rear-seat passengers use to manage in-vehicle entertainment screens. Compatible part numbers include LR 04 51 02, LR 02 31 91, and LR 03 22 94, among others.
- Rear entertainment remote platform: These part numbers share the same 3.7V Li-Polymer cell, connector pinout, and BMS handshake threshold. Swapping to a mismatched voltage or connector type will trip the protection circuit and lock out the remote entirely.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench and confirmed the BMS engages correctly at the low-voltage cutoff, preventing cell damage during deep drain scenarios common in vehicles left unused for extended periods.
- Re-pairing after power removal: Fully removing the old battery clears the remote's volatile memory. After fitting this battery, initiate a re-pair sequence from the vehicle's rear entertainment head unit — the remote will not respond to touch input until the pairing handshake completes.
Touchscreen not registering touches after battery swap
The touchscreen controller in this remote initialises separately from the main processor. If it does not receive a clean power-up sequence, it can boot into a locked state where touch input is ignored entirely. Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, then reinsert it to force a full controller reset. If touch still fails, confirm cell voltage reads at least 3.6V at the contacts before reinstalling.
Backlight dim or absent after fitting a new cell
The backlight circuit draws higher voltage than the base display and is the first function the BMS throttles when it detects an unverified or partially charged cell. A new Li-Polymer cell ships at storage charge — typically around 3.8V — which may be just below the threshold the backlight driver expects. Connect the remote to a USB charging source for 20–30 minutes before use, and confirm voltage reaches 4.1V or above for full backlight output.
