RCA Lyra X3000 / X3030 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (54182)
This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery for the RCA Lyra X3000 and Lyra X3030 portable media players. It replaces OEM part number 54182 — the original cell fitted at the factory. If your player no longer holds a charge or refuses to power on, this is the direct replacement cell.
- Lyra X3000 and X3030 compatibility: Both models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, the same 54182 OEM part number, and the same physical connector. One battery covers both players — no wiring changes or adapters needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Lyra platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error, held the 3.7V nominal rail stable through mid-cycle, and registered capacity correctly in the device's battery indicator.
- First charge after a long storage gap: If the player sat unused for months, the cell may enter deep-discharge protection before you install this replacement. After fitting the new battery, connect the charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — the device needs that window to exit trickle-charge mode and accept normal current.
Playback cutting out before the battery indicator hits empty
The Lyra X3000's audio amplifier draws a brief current spike during playback — especially at higher volumes. Near the end of cell discharge, voltage sags enough to trip the amplifier's undervoltage threshold before the battery gauge reaches zero. This is a load-response issue, not a faulty cell. A fresh 1500mAh cell restores headroom at the low end of the charge curve and pushes that cutoff point back significantly. If the symptom persists after fitting this battery, check that the charge cycle completed fully and the cell reached 4.2V before playback.
Battery percentage jumping erratically after fitting a new cell
The Lyra X3000 uses a voltage-threshold fuel gauge — it reads cell voltage and maps it to a percentage using fixed reference points calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. After a cell swap, those reference points are misaligned until the gauge recalibrates. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles without interrupting them. By the end of the second cycle, the indicator should track steadily. If it still jumps, confirm the charger is delivering a clean 5V input — an unstable supply confuses voltage sampling during the trickle phase.
