Voyager II shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement
The Voyager II's charge IC maps voltage curves from the previous cell, not the new one. When display backlight and Wi-Fi run simultaneously, combined load draws enough current to cause a sharp voltage dip that the old calibration reads as critically low. The tablet's protection circuit triggers a shutdown well above true empty. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle, then a full uninterrupted charge — after that cycle, the fuel gauge re-maps to the PT425080 cell's actual voltage curve and the early shutdowns stop.
Battery percentage dropping faster than expected from 100%
Fast percentage drops from a full charge are a fuel gauge drift symptom, not a cell defect. The Android fuel gauge IC on the Voyager II holds calibration data from the old battery and misreads the new cell's discharge curve — it jumps percentage points early in the discharge cycle. One complete cycle from 100% charge down to automatic shutoff, followed by an uninterrupted full charge, resyncs the IC to the PT425080's actual 1500mAh capacity. After that single cycle, percentage reporting stabilises across the discharge range.
