Door controller losing stored programming after a power outage

If the battery is depleted below its retention threshold, even a brief outage wipes the controller's settings. You come back to a door that either won't move or behaves erratically. Replace the battery and allow a full 24-hour charge before the next power interruption to restore programming protection.
Battery backup not activating when mains power fails
If the door goes dead during a mains failure instead of switching to battery, the backup circuit is not seeing sufficient voltage from the NC700AA. Ni-MH cells self-discharge over time — a battery left uncharged for several months can drop below the activation threshold of the backup relay. Check terminal voltage with a multimeter; a healthy charged NC700AA should read at least 8.0V at rest. If it reads below 7.5V, the battery won't trigger the backup circuit and must be replaced.
