GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the GX-111
When cell voltage drops toward the lower end of the discharge curve, some GPS units — including the GX-111 — reduce RF receiver sensitivity to conserve power. This shows up as position drift, increased HDOP values, or a reduced satellite count in the signal screen. It is not a firmware fault. Keeping the cell above 3.6V during active navigation maintains full receiver performance. If you see accuracy drop during a session, check the battery indicator — it will usually be at or below one bar.
GX-111 shutting off without a low-battery warning
After fitting a new cell, the GX-111's battery gauge may not be calibrated to the replacement cell's discharge curve. The unit reads voltage rather than true state-of-charge, so the visual warning can appear late — or not at all — before the BMS hits its cutoff threshold and shuts the device down. Run two full charge-and-discharge cycles to let the firmware recalibrate its voltage-to-percentage mapping. After that, the low-battery indicator should trigger at approximately 3.5V rather than at abrupt cutoff.
