Why the Elisee 250 may alarm low battery on a freshly charged replacement
The Elisee's BMS compares cell voltage and internal resistance against thresholds calibrated for OEM chemistry. A new replacement cell hasn't completed a learn cycle yet, so its resistance profile can read outside the expected window on first use. The device interprets this as a degraded or low battery and triggers the alarm even at full charge. Running one complete charge-to-discharge cycle allows the BMS to establish a baseline and the alarm clears on subsequent use.
Elisee not powering on after the battery sat in storage
Lithium-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery shipped or sat unused for an extended period, its voltage may have dropped below the Elisee's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10.0–10.5V for a 14.4V pack. The BMS will refuse to engage the output circuit at this voltage to protect the cells. Connect the battery to its charger first and leave it for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on the ventilator; recovery charging will bring it back above the engagement threshold.
