The RM2 cradle reads contact resistance at the charge pins before it opens the charge circuit. A new pack often has slight oxidation or residue on the gold contacts from packaging. If the dock flashes an error immediately on a new battery, wipe the contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth and reseat firmly. The error clears once contact resistance drops below the dock's detection threshold.
