The Home Base Pro is the central hub that manages all wireless sensors and connectivity in a Ring alarm system. When AC power drops, this battery keeps the hub live and the alarm system running.

The Home Base Pro does not reset its battery flag at the moment of installation. The panel's firmware monitors voltage over time and only clears the low-battery status once the cell has held a stable float charge — typically 24 to 48 hours on mains. Pulling the hub off AC power or running a system test during this window will cause the panel to re-flag the battery as low, because the cell hasn't yet reached the threshold voltage the firmware expects. Keep the hub plugged in and let the charge cycle complete before testing.
Alarm losing saved programming during a power outage after battery replacement
If the Home Base Pro drops its configuration during an outage, the replacement cell was not yet accepted by the panel's backup circuit. This happens when the battery is installed but not given enough time on float charge to reach full capacity — the panel draws from mains and flags the battery as insufficient for sustaining memory during a transfer. The fix is straightforward: reconnect to mains, allow 48 hours of uninterrupted charging, then simulate an outage by unplugging the hub. If the panel holds its programming through that test, the cell is conditioned and accepted. Target float voltage at the cell terminals is 8.4V.
