This 3.7V 5200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal backup battery in the Ring Alarm Home Base Station (SEB1N9-0000 / 4HB1U9-0EN0). It restores backup power so the hub continues managing sensors and sirens during mains outages. Capacity is sourced from the original spec: 5200mAh / 19.24Wh.
- Hub model compatibility: The SEB1N9-0000 and 4HB1U9-0EN0 base stations share the same internal battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge acceptance and BMS communication checks on the base station. The hub accepted the cell, completed the float charge cycle, and reported battery status correctly through the Ring app after the conditioning window.
- Post-swap float charge window: Do not run a zone or siren diagnostic immediately after installing this cell. The Ring base station BMS requires the battery to reach full float charge — allow 24 to 48 hours on mains power before triggering any system test, otherwise the panel will flag a low battery warning even with a fresh cell installed.
Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement
If the base station loses its configuration during a mains outage shortly after a battery swap, the cell has not yet been accepted by the BMS. The Ring hub draws on backup power only after the battery has completed an initial conditioning cycle on float charge. A cell installed and immediately subjected to a real or simulated outage may not hold the hub long enough to retain programming. Keep the hub on mains for at least 48 hours post-installation before any power interruption occurs.
Ring app reports low battery within hours of fitting a new cell
This is a BMS reporting lag, not a faulty cell. The Ring base station reads battery state-of-charge through the internal BMS, which calibrates its reading during the first full float charge cycle. Until that cycle completes — typically 24 to 48 hours after installation — the hub may continue displaying the previous low-battery status. Leave the hub connected to mains power and check the app again after 48 hours. If the warning persists past that point, verify the cell connector is fully seated.
