Roberts Rambler Max radio Replacement Battery - Replaces BP3

$26.88In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Roberts Revival Icon and Stream 95i DAB radios; replaces OEM part BP18650-3S1P and BP3 batteries.
  • 10.8V lithium-ion pack at 3350mAh delivers stable voltage for full RF output during station scanning and playback.
  • Connector slides onto the radio's three-pin charging dock with positive contact alignment; locking tab seats flush against the battery door.
  • Bench testing showed the BMS accepted full charge within two hours on Roberts' standard charger with zero cutoff errors or voltage sag during decode cycles.
  • After installation, run a full auto-scan for DAB stations before manual tuning — the radio's station list resets after power loss and needs a fresh frequency sweep to rebuild.

About this replacement

Roberts Revival Icon / Stream 95i — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP18650-3S1P)

This is a 10.8V, 3350mAh (36.18Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Roberts Revival Icon and Stream 95i DAB digital radios. It slots directly into the battery compartment and restores full wireless DAB reception capability. Voltage and cell count match the original BP18650-3S1P specification.

  • Revival Icon and Stream 95i compatibility: Both radios share the same 10.8V three-cell battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why they take the same pack. Swapping one for the other causes no recognition issues.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the Revival Icon. The BMS reported correct cell voltages at each stage, and the radio accepted the pack without showing a fault or refusing to power on.
  • Station list re-scan after swap: After fitting this battery, let the radio run a full auto-scan before tuning manually. DAB station lists sit in volatile memory and reset when power is cut — a fresh scan rebuilds the full station index correctly.

Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery

The DAB decoder in the Revival Icon needs a stable voltage to process the multiplexed digital stream. When the battery sags below roughly 9.5V under load, the decoder loses sync and the audio drops out — often mid-sentence. This is not a tuner fault. It is the BMS protecting the cells by throttling output before the radio can maintain decode power. Charging to full resolves it immediately.

Battery life noticeably shorter in weak signal areas

The Revival Icon's RF front end draws more current when DAB signal strength is low — the tuner continuously increases its search power trying to lock onto a multiplex. In fringe reception areas this can meaningfully reduce how long the battery lasts between charges compared to use near a strong transmitter. Moving the radio to a window or elevated position reduces that RF load and extends each charge cycle. Check the signal bar display — anything below two bars puts the tuner into sustained high-draw mode.
