This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-ion battery for the ROC Digital 14003 rocbox 20GB portable media player. It replaces OEM part ABC4B20232111111 directly. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or the device refuses to power on.

The rocbox enters a deep-discharge protection state below roughly 2.5V — it will not respond to power-on until the cell has trickle-charged back above that threshold.
Battery percentage jumping after cell swap on the rocbox 20GB
The rocbox 20GB uses a voltage-threshold method to estimate charge level — it has no dedicated fuel gauge IC. After fitting a new cell, the device maps voltage readings it has never seen against its stored lookup table. That mismatch causes the percentage indicator to jump or read incorrectly for the first several charge cycles. Run two or three full charge-to-discharge cycles and the indicator stabilises as the player learns the new cell's discharge curve.
Playback cutting out before the battery shows empty
The audio amplifier in the rocbox draws a short burst of higher current at the end of each track, particularly at higher volume levels. When the cell is near the bottom of its charge, that current spike causes the terminal voltage to sag below the protection circuit's cutoff threshold — around 2.7V — and the device shuts off even though the indicator still shows a bar or two remaining. Turning the volume down by 20–30 percent extends usable playback time from a near-depleted cell. If the problem appears at a full charge, the original cell has degraded and a replacement cell will resolve it.
