Why the RB700 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The RB700's BMS sets its low-battery threshold against a learned capacity baseline from the OEM cell. A new replacement cell hasn't completed the learn cycle yet, so the BMS may read state-of-charge conservatively and trip the alarm even at a full charge state. This is not a faulty battery — it's the BMS operating before it has calibrated to the new cell's actual capacity curve. Run one complete charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle without interruption. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the alarm behaviour normalises.
RB700 will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If voltage drops below approximately 10V — which can happen after several months on a shelf — the RB700's BMS protection circuit locks out to prevent deep-discharge damage, and the device shows no response at all. Connect the battery to the RB700 on charge and leave it for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on. The charge IC applies a low-current pre-charge recovery phase that brings the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 12V, before normal charging resumes.
