Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the AC9227
The AC9227's motor draws current proportional to airflow restriction. A partially clogged filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling amps beyond the BMS's sustained-draw threshold before the cell is actually depleted. The BMS interprets this elevated draw as a fault and throttles output — the indicator still shows charge, but suction collapses. Clean the filter first. If suction restores immediately after a filter clear, the battery is not the cause.
Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a cell failure. On the AC9227, sustained restricted suction — from a blockage in the nozzle or a saturated filter — spikes current draw sharply. The BMS opens the discharge circuit to protect the cells, then resets after a brief cooldown. If the cycle repeats after clearing the blockage, verify the replacement cell is seated fully and the connector pins are making clean contact. A loose connection causes intermittent resistance spikes that trigger the same trip at 7.0V or below.
