Rowenta AC922701/9A0 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RS-AC3498)
This 7.4V, 3000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the RS-AC3498 cell in Rowenta cordless stick vacuums. It fits the AC922701/9A0, AC922701/9A1, AC92274A/9A0, and AC92274A/9A1 models. The battery slots into the original housing and connects to the same BMS circuit the vacuum expects.
- AC922701 and AC92274A compatibility: These four models share the same 7.4V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell design covers all four variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the AC922701 platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the charger, accepted charge without fault codes, and held voltage within spec across the draw cycle.
- Dock charging habit on these vacuums: Remove the vacuum from the charging dock once the indicator shows full. The AC922701 dock does not switch to a true maintenance charge — it continues to push current into the cell, which accelerates capacity fade over weeks of continuous connection.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the AC922701
This happens when motor draw exceeds what the cell can deliver at its current state of charge, even with bars still showing on the indicator. The indicator reads cell voltage at rest, not under load. A degraded or partially discharged cell sags sharply under the motor's draw, cutting airflow before the display catches up. A fresh cell at 3000mAh holds voltage above the sag threshold for significantly longer into the charge cycle.
Motor cutting out and recovering mid-clean
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor works harder to maintain airflow, drawing sustained current above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS disconnects to protect the cell, then resets after a few seconds. Clean or replace the filter first — if the cut-outs stop, the battery was not the problem. If cut-outs continue on a clean filter with a new cell, check that the battery terminal is fully seated and reading above 7.0V at rest.
