This is an 18V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Rowenta RH8771 cordless stick vacuum. It fits directly in place of the original pack using the same connector and housing dimensions. Replace it when the original no longer holds a charge or suction drops off well before the battery indicator reaches low.
- RH8771 fitment: The RH8771 runs an 18V motor rail with a connector and BMS handshake specific to this stick vacuum platform. This pack matches that voltage rail and connector orientation, so the charger recognises the cell correctly and the vacuum motor draws current at the rated load.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack under sustained motor load on the RH8771 platform. The BMS held stable through multiple charge and discharge cycles, and the charger terminated correctly at full charge without cycling into fault mode.
- Dock charging habit on the RH8771: Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums develop capacity fade significantly faster under continuous trickle charge. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the RH8771
Ni-MH packs lose voltage under load before the indicator circuit registers a low state. On the RH8771, the motor draws higher current against a restricted airflow path — a partially blocked filter accelerates this voltage sag. The result is a noticeable drop in suction while the indicator still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first, then check whether the issue persists with the new battery under an unobstructed airflow path.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the vacuum draws sustained high current — most often caused by a blocked filter or brush roll restriction — the BMS cuts the output to protect the cells. The pack resets once current demand drops, which is why power returns after a short pause. Clear any blockage at the filter and brush roll, then confirm resting pack voltage sits above 15V before the next clean cycle.
