This is a 14.8V, 6700mAh lithium-ion battery for the Rowenta Smart Force Cyclonic robotic vacuum range. It fits the RR8021, RR8024, RR8037, RR8043, and 14 additional Smart Force Cyclonic variants sharing the RS-RT900817 part number. It powers the vacuum's drive motors, brush roll, and onboard navigation electronics.
- Smart Force Cyclonic series fit: These models share the same 14.8V four-cell Li-ion pack, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping this battery across the RR80xx range does not require any firmware or charger changes — the BMS talks to the dock directly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the dock, monitoring cell balance and BMS cutoff thresholds. The protection circuit tripped correctly at the rated low-voltage floor, and all four cells balanced to within 20mV at full charge.
- Dock charging habit for this vacuum: Do not leave the RR8021 on the charging dock permanently between cleaning runs. This model's dock supplies a continuous trickle once full, which stresses cells at high state-of-charge over weeks. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next run.
Suction dropping mid-cycle before the battery indicator reaches low
The RR8021's motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is tangled. This pulls the cell voltage down under load faster than the indicator circuit expects, so the vacuum appears to run out of charge early — even on a new battery. The indicator reads resting voltage, not loaded voltage, so the two readings diverge as restriction increases. Clean the filter and clear the brush roll before assuming the battery is at fault.
Motor cuts out briefly then restarts during a cleaning cycle
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, carpet fibres jammed in the intake — the motor pulls a sustained high-current draw that breaches the pack's overcurrent threshold. The BMS disconnects the cells for a few seconds, then resets once current demand drops. To confirm: clean the filter, run the vacuum on a hard floor, and check whether the cutout stops. If it does, the filter was the cause, not the battery.
