The Ativ Pro BIOS reads health data from EEPROM stored on the original cell. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM data does not match the fresh chemistry, so the BIOS flags poor health before any real degradation has occurred. This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. Under combined CPU and display load the voltage drops faster than the uncalibrated gauge predicts, and the BMS triggers a hard cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a defective cell — it is a mismatch between the stored curve and the new chemistry. Force two complete discharge-to-hibernate cycles with no interruption, then charge fully each time. After those cycles the fuel gauge IC recalculates its curve and the early shutdowns stop.
