Why this battery

  • Fits Samsung Galaxy A05 2023 models SM-A055M/DS and SM-A055F/DS, replacing OEM batteries WT-S-N28 and GH81-24241A.
  • This 3.85V lithium-polymer cell delivers 4900mAh capacity, matching the original pack's total energy output for full-day operation.
  • Physical connector is a two-pin proprietary Samsung contact; orientation locks into the battery slot without modification or adapters required.
  • We bench-tested this cell through five complete discharge-charge cycles; the BMS accepted the new pack without lockout and voltage held steady under sustained load.
  • On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC to the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

About this replacement

Samsung Galaxy A05 2023 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GH81-24241A)

This is a 3.85V, 4900mAh lithium-polymer cell for the Samsung Galaxy A05 2023, covering SM-A055M/DS, SM-A055F/DS, and SM-A055M variants. It replaces the original cell when the phone no longer holds adequate charge or fails to power on reliably. OEM part numbers GH81-24241A and WT-S-N28 both cross-reference this unit.

  • SM-A055 series compatibility: All SM-A055 variants share the same 3.85V voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full regional lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on an SM-A055F/DS. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without fault flags, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge continuously through to cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC accurate reference points against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Galaxy A05 2023

This is a voltage cliff issue. Under heavy load — mobile data, screen-on, background sync — the cell voltage drops sharply below what the SoC can sustain, triggering an emergency shutdown even though the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. A degraded original cell with high internal impedance cannot deliver enough current at that load without collapsing voltage. Replacing the cell resolves the root cause, but run one full calibration cycle first so the fuel gauge IC maps the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve correctly.

Phone reports wrong battery percentage after cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the A05 2023 uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the old cell's charge curve. After a cell swap, it starts from an incorrect baseline, which causes percentage readings to jump or stall — most visibly between 80–100% and again near 20%. The fix is one uninterrupted full discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge to 100% at standard rate, with fast charging disabled for that cycle. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates to 3.85V and the readings stabilise.
