Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 Duos Replacement Battery - Replaces EB-BA510ABE

$22.56In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 Duos and replaces OEM battery EB-BA510ABE.
  • Delivers 3.85V at 2900mAh (11.17Wh)—this capacity matches the original cell output for the phone's modem and display load.
  • Connector is soldered directly to the motherboard; orientation is fixed with no locking tab to engage.
  • We bench-tested this cell against the coulomb counter IC in the A5 2016 Duos; BMS accepted the new pack on first charge cycle without fault codes.
  • On first use after installation, skip fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

About this replacement

Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 Duos — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-BA510ABE)

This 3.85V, 2900mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original EB-BA510ABE cell in the Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 Duos and related SM-A510 variants. It fits SM-A510F, SM-A510F/DS, SM-A510Y/DS, and additional SM-A510 configurations. Drop capacity is matched to the factory spec so the phone's charge IC does not reject the cell on first boot.

  • SM-A510 series fit: All SM-A510 variants share the same 3.85V nominal rail, the same connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full lineup without firmware or hardware modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an SM-A510F. The BMS accepted the cell without a low-voltage lockout error, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases cleanly on the first cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve for the new cell before Samsung's adaptive fast charge pushes higher current into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. Under peak modem load or screen brightness, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects, and the phone shuts off before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge is still referencing the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. One full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled re-maps the curve to the new cell, and the shutdowns stop.

Phone won't power on after the battery sat in storage

If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a protective lockout and blocks normal boot. The phone will not respond to the power button and may show no charging indicator at first. Connect the phone to a wall adapter — not a PC port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC delivers a trickle current that brings the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point charging resumes normally and the phone will power on.
