This is a 3.8V, 2600mAh Li-ion cell for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. It fits the SM-N915, SM-N915A, SM-N915F, and related SM-N915 variants. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- SM-N915 series compatibility: All SM-N915 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.8V nominal rail, and connector footprint. The EB-BN915BBC, EB-BN915BBE, and EB-BN915BBK part numbers reference the same cell — differentiated only by regional packaging, not electrical spec.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the SM-N915 platform and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly — charge IC accepts the cell, temperature monitoring stays active throughout the charge cycle, and no protection cutoffs triggered during a full discharge-charge sequence.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. The fuel gauge IC on the Note Edge calibrates its coulomb counter against the cell's discharge curve. Running a slow first cycle gives it accurate reference data before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Galaxy Note Edge after a cell swap
The Note Edge pulls heavy current spikes when the modem transmits or the curved-edge display panel refreshes at full brightness. A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC can report 25% remaining while the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS cutoff threshold under that load. The BMS reads the voltage sag, hits its floor, and cuts power — even though the percentage indicator looked safe. One full slow discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter so the displayed percentage tracks actual cell voltage accurately.
Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage. The Note Edge will show no response — no charging indicator, no boot screen. Connect the phone to a wall charger rated at least 5V/1A and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS wake threshold, after which normal charging resumes and the phone powers on.
