About this replacement
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BS908ABY)
This is a 3.85V, 4550mAh (17.52Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G. It fits SM-S908B/DS, SM-S906W, SM-S908E/DS, and related variants. Swap it in when your original EB-BS908ABY has degraded past usable capacity.
- S22 Ultra 5G platform fit: The SM-S908 series shares a single battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake across regional variants. The same cell services the modem, display, and S Pen digitiser rail without a voltage step-down conflict.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on an SM-S908B/DS. The BMS accepted the cell without a fault flag, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases correctly.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement cell
A new cell has a discharge curve the phone's coulomb counter hasn't seen yet. When the modem fires a 5G burst or the display peaks, the phone draws a spike the fuel gauge misreads as a voltage cliff. The system shuts down to protect the cell even though charge remains. One full slow discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter baseline and eliminates most of these false cutoffs.
USB-PD fast charge not triggering on the first cycle after replacement
After a cell swap, the charge IC on the S22 Ultra 5G defaults to standard 5W charging on the first session while it reads the new BMS parameters. This is not a fault — it is a handshake delay. Disconnect the cable, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect. If fast charge still doesn't trigger, complete one full standard charge cycle first and it will re-enable at the next session.
