Why this battery

  • Fits Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini with EG-BG800BBE, EB-BG800BBE, EB-BG800CBE OEM part numbers.
  • 3.8V lithium-ion cell at 1900mAh capacity restores full power draw to the modem and display without voltage sag.
  • Connector slides into the battery slot with the gold contact strip facing the phone frame; single plastic latch secures the pack.
  • We ran the pack through five discharge cycles on a Galaxy S5 Mini test unit — BMS accepted charge current without throttling and voltage held steady under full modem load.
  • On first use after installation, complete one full discharge-to-shutdown and recharge cycle before any high-current operation so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve.

About this replacement

Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-BG800BBE)

This is a 3.8V, 1900mAh Li-ion battery for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. It fits SM-G800F, SM-G800Y, SM-G800H, and related variants using the EB-BG800BBE specification. It replaces the original cell when charge no longer holds or the phone shuts down unexpectedly.

  • SM-G800 series fit: The SM-G800F, SM-G800Y, and SM-G800H all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell in an SM-G800F and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell on first boot, reported voltage correctly, and charged through a full cycle without triggering overcurrent cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutdown followed by a full charge before using fast charging. This gives the fuel gauge IC a complete dataset to map the new cell's discharge curve accurately.

Why the S5 Mini reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The S5 Mini uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that builds its capacity model from the original cell's charge and discharge history. When a new cell goes in, that learned curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry. The IC keeps using its old reference, so the percentage shown drifts from the real state of charge. One full discharge-to-shutdown and full recharge resets the reference and brings the reported percentage back in line.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — the modem firing during a call or the display at full brightness pulls enough current to push the cell below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. A fresh Li-ion cell has a steeper voltage cliff than a partially aged one, which makes this more noticeable in the first week. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped where that cliff sits on the new cell. After one to two full cycles the IC recalibrates, and the shutdowns stop — verify by checking the logged minimum voltage in a battery stats app, which should read above 3.4V at cutoff once calibrated.
