About this replacement
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BT575BBE)
This is a 3.85V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 (SM-T570 series). It fits the 8.0-inch rugged Android tablet released in 2020. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a full charge or fails to power on at all.
- SM-T570 series compatibility: The Galaxy Tab Active 3 variants — including the SM-T570, SM-T575, and SM-T577 — share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. All units accept the EB-BT575BBE cell without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an SM-T575 unit and confirmed full charge acceptance via the onboard charge IC. The BMS communicated correctly with Android's battery service, reporting voltage and charge state without error flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this battery, run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff — do not force-off the tablet — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell. Skip this step and the percentage display will drift from the first cycle.
Why the Tab Active 3 shuts down at 15–25% remaining after a battery swap
The Galaxy Tab Active 3 uses a fuel gauge IC that stores learned discharge curves from the previous cell. When a new cell is installed, the IC still applies the old curve, which maps the wrong voltage to a given percentage. Under combined screen-plus-WiFi load, voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, triggering a low-voltage protection cutoff while the display still reads 15–25%. One full uncalibrated discharge-to-shutoff cycle teaches the IC the actual voltage floor of the new cell — typically 3.4V — and eliminates premature cutoffs.
Fast charging unavailable on the Tab Active 3 after battery replacement
The Tab Active 3 supports Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging, which requires the charge IC to complete one recognised full charge cycle before it unlocks higher charge rates on a new cell. If fast charge is absent immediately after installation, connect the original Samsung charger and allow the tablet to charge from low to 100% without interruption. After that first accepted cycle, the charge IC re-enables the higher current profile. Using a third-party charger for this first cycle can prevent the handshake from completing — use the OEM adapter.
