Why the Tab S5e shuts down at 15–25% after a battery swap

When the display backlight and Wi-Fi radio draw current together, the reported voltage drops faster than the gauge expects, triggering a low-voltage shutdown before the cell is genuinely depleted. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% realigns the IC to the new cell's actual curve.

Fast charging not available on the Tab S5e after battery replacement

Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging on the Tab S5e requires the charge IC to complete at least one full accepted charge cycle before it unlocks higher current delivery. Immediately after a swap, the tablet defaults to standard 5V charging while the IC verifies the new cell accepts voltage correctly. This is a protective hold, not a fault. Charge the tablet fully once using the original Samsung charger and cable — fast charging typically re-enables on the next charge session.
