- GT-i9070 and GT-i9070P compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V battery rail with an identical physical footprint and connector tab position. The BMS handshake uses the same thermistor line, so either variant accepts this cell without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a GT-i9070 unit and monitored BMS cutoff behaviour under simulated modem load. The protection circuit held within spec at both the low-voltage floor and the 4.2V charge ceiling.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable any fast-charge adapter for the first full discharge-charge cycle after fitting this cell. The GT-i9070's fuel gauge IC needs one complete cycle against the new cell's discharge curve before it can report accurate percentages — skipping this step causes erratic readings early on.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GT-i9070 after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under peak modem or display load, the new cell's terminal voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects, triggering a hardware shutdown before the reported percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge is still calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance curve. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — after that single cycle the IC recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.

The GT-i9070 uses a coulomb counter that builds its charge model against a known cell profile. Swap in a new cell and that model is stale — the phone may show 80% on a nearly full battery or drop from 40% to 10% with no warning. This is not a defective cell; the counter needs resetting. Let the phone discharge to auto-shutdown, plug in, and charge to 100% in one uninterrupted session. After that cycle the percentage display tracks correctly.
