Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the SR8940
The SR8940's suction motor draws peak current when the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll meets thick carpet pile. If the cell has degraded, internal resistance rises and voltage sags under that load — the motor slows before the battery indicator registers a low state. The indicator reads state-of-charge at rest, not under load, so it lags behind real-world voltage drop. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage flat under motor load and restores consistent suction through the full clean cycle.
NaviBot motor cutting out mid-run then recovering after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or the unit pressed into a corner — the motor strains against back-pressure and current spikes above the BMS threshold. The protection circuit cuts the output, waits for the spike to clear, then restores power. Clean or replace the filter first. If the cut-outs stop, the old battery was not the cause. If they continue on a clean filter, the original cell's BMS threshold has drifted low with age and the replacement cell will resolve it.
