The indicator reads state-of-charge at rest, not under load, so it lags behind real-world voltage drop. This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or the unit pressed into a corner — the motor strains against back-pressure and current spikes above the BMS threshold. The protection circuit cuts the output, waits for the spike to clear, then restores power. Clean or replace the filter first. If the cut-outs stop, the old battery was not the cause. If they continue on a clean filter, the original cell's BMS threshold has drifted low with age and the replacement cell will resolve it.
