- SH5051 and VC-PS83/PS85 platform: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 10.8V motor rail. One battery pack covers the entire group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a vacuum unit. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly at the low-cell threshold and accepted charge from the OEM dock without faulting.
- Dock charging discipline on Ni-MH cells: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. Ni-MH chemistry is particularly vulnerable to trickle charge damage from permanent docking. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the battery can sustain under load — not a low-charge issue. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling current above the pack's rated delivery. The cell voltage sags under that demand, and the motor slows before the indicator reacts. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest. If suction recovers, the battery was not the problem.
Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or hair wrap on the brush roll — the motor draws sustained high current. The BMS interprets that as a fault and opens the circuit. It resets after the pack cools slightly, which is why the vacuum restarts. Fix the restriction first. If trips continue on a clear airpath, check that cell voltage under load stays above 9.0V.
