Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 — 3.9V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BJ710CBN)
This is a 3000mAh, 3.9V lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 series. It fits the SM-J7109, SM-J7108, Galaxy J7 6 Duos TD-LTE, and related variants. It replaces OEM part numbers EB-BJ710CBN, EB-BJ710CBE, EB-BJ710CBC, EB-BJ710CBA, and GH43-04599A.
- J7 2016 family compatibility: The SM-J7108, SM-J7109, and Galaxy J7 6 Duos variants share the same battery bay geometry, flex connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. All draw from the same 3.9V nominal rail, so one cell covers the full compatibility list without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a J7 2016 unit. The BMS handshake completed correctly, charge IC accepted the cell without fault flags, and voltage stayed stable under combined display and modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the J7 2016 after a battery swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff earlier than the old calibration expects, so the phone shuts down before the reported percentage reaches zero. It is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge from 100% down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted — this resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.
USB fast charge not activating after fitting the replacement cell
Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging protocol requires the charge IC to negotiate with the BMS before enabling high-current charge. On a freshly installed cell, the BMS may not complete that handshake on the first cycle, leaving the phone on standard 5V/1A charging only. This is not a hardware fault. Disconnect the charger, reboot the phone, then reconnect — the charge IC renegotiates the protocol and fast charge activates at the start of the next session.
